For the second workshop, we wanted to unpack the PQS activity from the first workshop, and we also wanted to discuss the possibility of coming together to form a community of practice. Seven people registered for the second workshop; this time, four attended. This reinforced for us how a discussion about despair, forgiveness, and hope could be of value for participants–and how they might be able to have these discussions in their classrooms with learners.

We reopened the PQS (Positive, Question, Suggestion) activity from the first workshop, and we discussed participant responses at length; photos are below.

The responses demonstrated how deep these faculty members’ commitment to student success is–and that they understand success might look different for each student.

Fostering Resilience in the Classroom, Part 2

Building on part 1, this session will offer a fuller discussion of some of the activities you can use in your classroom to draw out and foster students’ resilience. We will also further discuss why resilience is good for learning. Finally, we will explore the possibility of a Community of Practice for faculty interested in Appreciative Inquiry and Appreciative Resilience.

Please note: Everyone is welcome to participate; you need not have attended Part 1.
